This project aims to create a 360 degree VR world during the Renaissance combined with a 2D gallery. Our group has put a lot of effort into collecting and making visual components. Unlike the usual kinds of virtual exhibitions, users will experience an immersive virtual environment that is created by Unity. Users are able to view the world in the Middle Ages by controlling their mouse. The artworks will be merged into the 3D VR world. To introduce all artworks, the exhibition will include a 2D gallery made by Mental Canvas. It will be interactive and the audience can play with layers of the painting by using their mouse, to enter the artwork.

Our project works in collaboration with the BRAVO scholarship fund in Gatineau, a scholarship fund that assists new refugees from South-West Asia & North Africa to pursue a post-secondary education in the Outaouais region. When we first started working with the fund, we noticed that a lot of their design skills and outreach methods were outdated. Our project consists of developing a website for the fund that allows easy access to information about the fund, requirements to qualify, and a form to directly apply for a scholarship through their website. We also created an Instagram page for them to gain attention from a younger demographic that could benefit from these scholarships.

We have partnered up with Saunders Farm, an Ottawa family-owned business that offers seasonal events and experiences. As MPAD students we are looking to fill some of the gaps we observed. By working with Saunders Farm, we are looking to fill those gaps with the skills we have learned throughout our four years in the MPAD program to better the Saunders experience. Most notably we are working on a new and improved interactive map to better the patron’s experience in navigating and discovering more about the farm. Additionally, we are creating what we are calling a media package. This encompasses a whole host of recommendations and a media audit for the various external medias Saunders currently has in place. We hope to use our expertise in this area to provide insight and give Saunders farm an edge against their competition.
